    are they hiring new employees for this? are they firing employees for this? will seamicro still work for other companies other than amd? unless the current employees are getting paid more, an intel-focused company suddenly switching to another company would probably cause decreased productivity and morale. the purchase makes sense on amd's part, but if amd REALLY thinks their new architecture is the future, they should've been able to do what seamicro does by themselves.

    the 1 thing i don't get is why amd even bothered to create bulldozer in the first place when THEY were the ones that proved to intel that frequency is not the key to performance, and yet the main focus of bulldozer is frequency (it competes with i5 and i7 in number of threads, so that isn't what separates it).
