No-one else excited about this? Got it preloaded last night and it unlocked this morning! While Origins was let down i expect this to be a return to form.
Extremely, but considering that it seems to have been released with very poor optimization based on the steam reviews...I'll wait.
Yep not looking good on STEAM, think i will wait until they fix it before i purchase it. Still got plenty of GTA and BF to keep me going
Got it complete with seasons pass for £23. Performance is not there yet for some works fine for me personally. Wonder how much of the issues is related to none updated gpu drivers. On my build which is like 3 years + old get 40-60 fps everything on high at 1080p with AA enabled and it looks fine it's not witcher 3 nice but looks good enough. Game itself is fun to play, combat is very satisfying and has a certain touch that a lot of games have lacked in recent years. There's meant to be a patch coming that fixes a lot of issues but it does have high requirements. 660 or 7950 is the minimum gpu on PC. Which is a pretty hefty gpu requirement and most people reviewing it on steam have the bare minimum in one of the category's be it cpu memory or gpu. The ones with half decent systems report little to no issues once you disable nvidias extras that they add in. Similar to witcher 3 hairworks pre patch was about a 50% performance loss on anything outside of the latest gpus.
The site he linked has the entire game + dlc on sale for a while picked it up can't say I regret the purchase at that price.
I'm definitely going to wait for this as the early reviews of it are dreadful tbh - very poorly optimised and doesn't run well even on very high end setups (980ti, 980ti SLI etc). Really disappointed as I absolutely adored the first games in this series and was super excited for this one (but not enough to pre-order thankfully...) I won't embed the video as it's rather NSFW (lots of swearies) but this made me laugh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBiX1ZCdo0s Edit: Rocksteady outsourced the PC version of the game to a small studio of just 12 people that primarily develops for the last generation consoles and iOS Oops...
I preordered but I'm going to wait a while to play. I have Far Cry 3 to finish and I would like to play through Origins again.
You could give it a whirl - you may just have to dial back the settings (maybe a lot). I'm definitely going to wait a week (or 3)
From what ive played about 5 hours now its a great game but it does have its issues. Id imagine it will be patch fixed by the morning which will solve most issues. Wont stop me pre ordering not at the prices that were on offer anyway.
Although I've got it in my library ready to go, I've got stuck into a couple of other games recently that I want to finish off. I am excited to get playing it though.
So the game had a meltdown last night and froze up my PC for 10 mins during which it broadcast everything in TS even though i wasnt pressing the button and I could not kill the game even though it had stopped responding......... All that said when it works - the gliding, grappling and fighting is next level compared to the previous games!
The game has it's hangups, FPS drop to zero, still more playable than Watch Dogs which is how I compare any game launch for the time being till a new title comes out that doesn't stand up to it's own publicity and hype etc. It's beautiful, sometimes has too much going on. During an escort/chase section I got losts and struggled a little but that was my inability to drive the Batmobile. I keep pressing left trigger to break etc. So far I have enjoyed the game it's completely different to Origins.
Hmm... Well, decided to give the inbuilt benchmark a go (after altering the config files to allow a maximum of 60FPS). Now, I haven't bothered to install the latest drivers (currently running 325.xx as opposed to the new 353.30) but I'm getting an average 35FPS. The game also crashes every time I exit it and crashes around 2/3 of the time I try to start it. However, the benchmark does look absolutely fantastic! I think I'll leave this one a month to let the developers sort it out.
Get it steam refunded and buy it in a month or 3 for one third the cost. It should never have been released in such a piss poor state, why would you support that? If only steam refunds had existed when colonial marines was released...
