    WoW :jawdrop:

£2.5k for the server, with no cpu's and almost £400 for delivery. :jawdrop:
Processor elsewhere on e-bay from $500 to $900. :jawdrop:

I like the line up of the cpu sockets. Easy for water cooling. :D

I'd be guessing, but it could be 500k+

I am getting between 280k and 430k on 64 opteron cores @ 2.2GHz, depending on which wu I am on. :D

    Hmmm.

    • The HWiNFO64 only shows 8 cores. ( 0 - 7 and no scroll bar for any more)
    • The Cinebench shows 32 cores. 10 doesnt go into 32. ( 3 and a bit CPU's? )
    • 32 cores could be 4 x 8, which coincides with 8 cores from HWiNFO64 :eyebrow:

    Sounds iffy to me. :eyebrow:

500K+... I'm managing 10K on an i5 (2 cores only) and a Radeon HD 5850... Need a Nvidia card! :sigh:

There is a discussion about folding on one of these type of beasts on the internet. This platform is not as efficient as skt 2011 for scaling across all the cores. The conclusion was that it is not worth the expense, a guy called -alias- was shopping for a new rig ! He is the real deal and the only person I know folding on a quad socket 2011 system that produces 650k ppd and thats just one of many big rigs. Actually the discussion was about the purchase of an 8 cpu system, here it is - http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1716471

Quad cpus isn't enough for these guys - apparently an 8 x xeon system was tested at 995k ppd using the fastest cpus available. The 1 mil mark hasn't been breached yet to my knowledge !
