are you upgrading with a specific game/budget/monitor size in mind?
And yes the 960 is a direct descendent but far superior and power efficient.

760 came in between as well.
Try loading up Metro Last Light and put everything on Ultra.
    All the best with that.

WoW in ultra settings was always a rather demanding game. More so if your using mods.

I would test other things before blaming the gpu.

Most WOW addons are still very unstable even after all this time.

Download heaven benchmark and loop that while you are at work, if it comes back and seems happy then the card is likely fine.

Cant really put a time frame on the life of these things, some go forever some die young.

How hot does the card get when gaming?

If it's been left running 24/7 for a few years then the heatsink might just be full of lovely surprises.

Fair enough, what's the GPU temp under load?

MSI Afterburner is worth installing. Don't be put off by the name, it's great for monitoring temperatures.

84C seems very warm for that GPU. Create a custom fan profile in Afterburner to see if it helps: in Afterburner choose "settings" and select the "fan" tab. Tick the appropriate box and create a profile (anything ramping up to 100% at around 60C should do it.

Failing that, check your case ventilation, GPU heatsink thoroughly for dust (again) and possibly the GPU thermal paste.

Regarding your PSU, does it feel hot when the PC's been working hard? How does the PSU look inside (you can see inside where the fan is)? Is it clogged up? Do the fans spin OK?

    That should make a difference.

I'd still like to prod around that Twin Frozr's radiator fins with a soft paintbrush though, but that's just me. :eyebrow:

If you're able, it might be worth replacing the TIM between the graphics chip and cooler. If you can do this you may be able to shave off a few degrees of heat and slow the fans down accordingly.

yeah, it's unigine Heaven. I think more people use Heaven than Valley.

Your Valley score doesn't look too bad to me, I had an overclocked HD7950 (similar performance to the 660) that scored up to 1488.

If you run heaven, it will score lower than valley, so don't panic as soon as it finishes !

Pretty much yes, you could run WoW on a toaster these days.
