Hey, I'm new to the site but have been lurking for a bit. I'm thinking about putting WC in my case (Silverstone RV02) and maybe modding the case a little bit. I was trying to look for mods on here and I found a few but most just contained dead pictures, so inspiration is welcome I haven't done WC before (Other than fitting a H100 for my friend, which hardly counts) so any advice is welcome, I already have a trip radiator but I'm not sure if it has a build of of corrosion in it so I may end up getting a new one anyway. Any recommendations on what RAD / Pump to get?/ anything else as I'm new to WC. I'm going to try and maintain a White & Black theme through the case. I will definitely be moving the HDD block or getting some 5.25 to 3.5 adapaters as I don't use the 5.25" cages anyway. I would like to try and keep the air penetrators and get a 3x180 rad but I'm not sure there would be enough room in the case (Especially for the gfx Cards, see above pic). I'll be doing some sketchups for the case on my lunch break (Working atm) So more to coem but any assistance is appreciated.
I've not had any experiance myself but I'm pretty sure there is a healthy thread over at xtremesystems with just watercooled RV02/Ravens and such. Mainly the bigger Silverstone case that fits quad rads in the bottom.. but should be some RV02s in there. I beleive its in the watercooling section.
You can use an ordinary radiator in the Raven, or you can outright chop the bottom of the HDD bays off, change the AP181's out for Phobya Nano 180's, then put in a 180x3 radiator (http://www.magicool.biz/180x3.htm), It also lets you reuse the existing dust filters and the like.

i belive the phobia 180mm are the same as the silverstone fans ( only with different plastic and leds ) as for the exaust, anything like a scythe gentle typhoon / akasa apache, enermax vegas etc would do you well, as its mainly there to get air out of the case if you must change the 180mm fans then id say the best fans are http://www.scan.co.uk/products/180m...hite-quiet-case-fan-with-fan-speed-controller they spin alot faster than the phobyas ( 1300rpm vs 700 rpm) and also come in white to match your case however to fit anything other than a dual 180mm rad you would need to take a dremel to the hdd cage ( odly alot easier for me as i have the original hdd cage, so i could just take a 5inch bay out ) a 4x 140 SHOULD fit into the base of the case ( with pretty major work ) if you really fancy a challenge now if only sythe made 140 / 180 gentle typhoons to remove rivets yes just drill them out as for your pump / res, due to space requirements id suggest http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop...a-Acrylic-Reservoir--X2O750BAY-pid-10479.html or if you have a little bit more money to spend ( by cutting out the 120mm rad) http://www.specialtech.co.uk/spshop...DDC-Ultra-18W-Pump-Bundle-Deal-pid-11202.html as for gpu blocks, its Always preferable to have full cover blocks as i said earlier i wouldnt bother going for the 120mm rad in the roof of the case, it wouldnt really affect your temps all that much ( after all its being fed used air from the rads in the base ) and would just complicate your build / tubing options ( would also save you a bit of money as well )
My thoughts on the fans were; Use the Nano's, because they can be controlled from an actual fan controller. The only fans I can actually deal with without raging at now are the AP181's, or anything I can plug into a fan controller, it's a pain in the ass to have to open up the case every time to change fan speeds. I recommended the 180x3 radiator because it means you can either outright keep the AP's (Not recommended, but it would work), or change them out for meatier fans and still get away with it, it's also only a thin radiator, so long as you're not mounting anything longer than a current GTX580; everything will still fit. Plus it lets you still use those dust filters that make everything just so much cleaner in there. The project I always think of when I see people plotting to watercool the Raven or the Fortress 02's is this one, because it shows that everything can be squeezed in internally, albeit with a bit of a squidge. One thing I will warn you about, however; The Fan-mounts for the AP's in the floor; The lower-halves of those are nigh impossible to get out of the case, I've not thought up a way yet that doesn't involve snapping off half the plastic tabs in order to get them free.

Thanks Lilgoth, I'll be getting those silverstone fans and the Silverstone 5.25 to 3.25 bay adapter as wel (Only decent one I could see that does 3 bays to 4 drives) I'll be looking at those 120 fans as well. Don't worry my Dremel will be put to good use, that HDD case is saying bye bye and I'm getting a 3x180 rad. Thanks I think I'll go for the res and pump combo you;ve put there unless I can find anything better! I;ve just done some research on Uni blocks as opposed to Full cover and the degrees gained by a FC block seems negligable at besr so I think I'll be grabbing 2x Uni blocks for my cards. Tundra; Yeah I'll def be getting a 3x180 rad, I think I'll be keeping the dust filters but not in a traditional sense (Magnets and mounted externally to the case ) In regards to the fan mounts I'll have a look when I can get started on this (Probably a month or two, will be ordering £200 kit this month and £200 next to keep this affordable) Thanks Parge, I got linked to that video above, it;s kinda useful but he went around it a bit of a crap way (Specially that awfully long hose )
Mine are hooked to a fan controller. Set them on high on the built in fan controller then hook the power leads to a drive bay controller. If you set them on low and hook them to a controller then they'll stall when you turn them all the way down.

Just thought I'd show you what I did when I WC'd why RV02: That's a 360Rad mounted to the bottom of the case (2 of the Air Penetrators taken out as I wasn't Air cooling; I left the one under the HDD cage in) with spacers between the bottom of the case and the rad. The bottom isn't flat so these are required to mount it properly, the screws coming through the grill from under the case. The fans mounted on it push down and out the bottom of the case. The 120Rad at the top has the fan pushing air up out of the case (EK Coolstream XT, fits perfectly in the space for the 120mm fan as long as you unscrew the switches for the fans). This set-up was the only way I found to not have the heat from the 360Rad just flowing back into the case. All my core components were fitted with blocks so there wasn't desperate need for proper air-flow through the case.
ahh i see, didnt read that ive left my rvo2 aircooling atm but when money comes avalible ill either shove a 4x140mm rad or a 3x180mm rad in the base of the case or maybe use an external rad nd leave the aircooling in TO MANY OPTIONS
External rad makes things easy, just pull out the top fan for a good amount of room and then continue, but it then makes it a pig to work with, as you have to have either QDC's on the tubing, or have to lug around all the external kit to move it. 180mm is my suggestion, simply because if you sit the fans low-enough; you don't loose any room. Having the air going back up over the components shouldn't end the world, so long as it's not 3x580's under water, overclocked to hell.

I find QDC's essential now. I have a pair on my CPU loop and another pair on the GPU loop. It makes maintenance/changing components much, much easier. Don't know how I managed without them.
