    I really like Luke's case, but it would look much nicer IMO if it was made of aluminium instead of acrylic.

    Again thanks for the selection! This is going to be a seriously awesome competition, can't wait for the hardware to arrive. Those are some pretty damn stylish designs up there, will we get to see those that didn't make it through too at some point?

    Yep we'll be putting together a selection of the best ones to go with the first update in a couple of weeks - didn't quite get time to include them yet as sifting through 40+ zip files of photos, renders sketches and descriptions took a while and we were keen to get the competition going!

    Thanks! I went with acrylic because it's a lot easier to machine (and cheaper!), BUT I am in talks with my aluminium guy, so there may be an alternate version made too :)

    Almost forgot about this competition! Really looking forward to the build logs as I'm very curious how the manufacturing of some of the components will be done!

    Good luck folks!

    I love the idea of the acrylic, but only if it's got a matt/sandblasted type finish.

    I can imagine it's do with the idea that the designs are supposed to showcase the dimensions of the build. Intel probably didn't think a watercooled one properly displayed the NUC's potential.

    First off: Thanks to everyone involved for selecting me!:D
    Second: I may have already ran into a problem.:lol: How attached is everyone to the brown? There's ZERO edge effect with it, and I fear I'll have to change the color.:(

    You do whatever you want Cheaps. I'm not exactly sure what the end game is but I don't think the "winner" will be the person who gets their project closest to their submitted render/design.

    Congrats and good luck to all.

    Five wonderful designs, I can only imagine what the other ones were like. It must have been a nightmare picking out just five.

    Congrats guys, looking forward to following all of these. I can't pick out a fave' (atm)

    Thank you to everyone involved for picking mine, it really surprised me because I already counted myself out going in, I'll have to surprise viewers with an optional extra to compliment the square design you see here if I have the spare time to think up & make optional extra but I'll keep it a nice surprise as for what the extra will be like being picked was for me. :)

    As soon as I get the kit I'll correct all the measurements in the design & start making it, really quite excited to make such a small case, these entries look awesome, curious to see the rest.

    Nearly stayed sat on the fence to enjoy the view, I blame cheaps, :p never thought I'd have the perfect moment to say that. :lol:

    Congratulations to the final five.
    I already have a preference for 2 of them.

    @Phame
    I think a watercooling would be a waste of space. I personally only realized how small such a NUC case was when I started to assemble the first parts, despite having the whole model built in sketchup before that.

    @Wolowitz
    Yeah I modelled up a full watercooling setup for it, it is viable! And would have been different!
    Can't wait for the work to start! :D
