Project I've had on the cards for a while after I picked up some water cooling kit from The boy 4rm oz on here and now finally I have everything I need PC Specs: i7 920 D0 @ 3.8 6Gb DDR3 SLI'd GTS250's X-Fi Platinum Sound Card w/front panel 64Gb Kingston SSD Mirrored 1TB Storage drives The case I picked is the new Xigmatek case which I have only just been able to get a hold of here in OZ hence the delay on build If you haven't seen this case before I suggest you have a look here It is a truly MASSIVE case the pictures really do not show it, here's a pic of it next to a standard ATX case. Got most of the build done last night, water loop all primed. Only one minor leak with a loose barb. Hopefully will get it finished tonight
That case is so stupidly large. You almost NEED a larger-than-ATX board and a 3-loop watercooling system just to make it look good.
hehe, I've had this case for 2 or 3 months now and I can safely say it's the best value for money you will ever see in a chassis. It's massive
It's a Asus P6T so yeah just a standard ATX board. Is nice to work with a case with plenty of space. Got all it sorted now with cable tidying, etc so i'll try get some more pics up soon. Going to have to make a cable for the X-Fi to the front panel as it's more or less an IDE cable which isn't long enough to go behind the motherboard
I agree .... if I'd need a large case I'd go with this Supermicro case (plus it comes with a dual 1400W redundant 80+ GOLD PSU) : Review : http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?274625-SUPERMICRO-CSE-747TG-R1400B-SQ-Case-Review&p=4937916
Most people have probably seen mine Also this is amusing https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...a.26759618226.38930.8916578226&type=1&theater Makes my old HAF932 look small
Previous stable OC of 3.8Ghz on air with load temps around 80-85c Running 4.3Ghz w/HT Prime95 load temp of 66c atm
And now some pics of the finished build. Really have to make up a custom cable for the X-Fi front panel the giant ribon cable really ruins the cable tidying....
Only it's not, it's got the most depth and space in any tower chassis. Y'know, for those of us who don't want people tripping over a build-it-yourself- unnecessarily large cube.
It really is a massive case, really I thought there must have been an extra box of goodies in the box when it arrived but nope all case lol. The pump is a Danger Den MAG II LE thinking later on i'll upgrade it to a D5 in one of the dual 5.25" res mounts. Running a stable 4.532Ghz OC with 216x21. Hard locks in minutes if I try to run a BLCK of 220
Nah... I'd say the most depth and space in any tower easily goes to the insanely large chassis' at Caselabs. Unless you're not including custom built cases by specialists...
Might just have to lol It's the cable from the X-Fi to the front panel which unfortunately isn't a standard IDE cable so i'm going to have to custom make one so I can hide it
Christ yes! Obviously anything custom built is another matter, that goes without saying! But for £150 you'd be very hard pressed to find something with more space
