Unfortunately you need to get into the bios and default it to ACHI. Disconnect everything except the mouse and keyboard and see what happens.
A2 is usually awaiting user input in the UEFI. I'd suggest manually setting your boot settings to your main boot drive and having every other option disabled. Perhaps that'll help. If not, unplug the adapter that you bought, and see if it still has the same issues.
Think you have sorted it chaps. It seems to be my DVD writer or a certain SATA port thats the problem. Will take a proper look tomorrow. IN UEFI anyway so thank you.
Right all works as should except when I plug in my DVD writer. I have three different ones to try, tried different cables in different ports but same thing every time A2 and loops. Any ideas ??
Go in to the bios and on boot settings disable the DVD from the boot order. Seen it before and that cured it. Once you have booted the DVD will work as normal.
As above, disable it from the boot list entirely. It should still show up in Windows without an issue.
Not a lot is springing to mind bar what you've already tried bud. If you need the data recovering from that IDE drive send it up and I'll sort it.
Thanks for the offer but it isn't for me, I was doing it as a favour and it's ballsed my mobo up. Annoying as it worked after doing that the other day. All I did was take my graphics card out and its buggering about again.
