You should be able to get £365 for one if you go to the right place at the right time.

The worst bit is, finding a place to sell them, I tried about 15 different Ebays and not a single one had any kidneys for sale, the closest thing they had was a model kidney, stupid fleabay.

Yeah, but I hear that the Kidney v1.2 Extreme Edition has some pipeline issues that make it incompatible with Bladder v0.5 and up...

Unless you re-flash your BIOS with the new drivers...

You're going to need to think lower, there are some sterile geeks walking around after some LN2 overclocking incidents.

Great cards and review, but I can't seem to figure out what those advanced AA (TMS, TSS) setting are and how the heck you would turn them on. Or are those ONLY on the 7-series (I'm on my 6600gt machine which may have something to do with it...)

Yeah, those are the ones that transparency-super-sample or something like that, it's the stuff that makes the insides of transparent textures look much, much nicer. It's a 7xxx series update, though ATI users have had it for a while.

I can't recommend the XFX one enough... I'm so glad I paid the extra. If you can cool it, this thing just keeps on clocking... even if you can't, 520+ MHz on the stock cooler doesn't really bother it. I can only speak for mine of course, but I suspect they've selected the chips and RAM that can be overclocked, as it's supplied with with quite a high overclock above a stock 7800 anyway. That's what you're paying for, and it shows.

We tried to overclock the core on its own, but found that we were stuck at 499MHz as the maximum core speed that would pass NVIDIA's internal driver test. However, we experienced visible artefacts on screen at anything above 495MHz when the memory was clocked at 1355MHz.
You got a bad one then... mine's happily sitting at 540MHz/1400MHz... not fussed. Watercooled, yes, but I had it at 520 on air.

Great review as always.

With watercooling being pretty much mainstream now, it would be great if you could buy the cards without stock coolers? that Leadtek cooler is such coolers must bump the price up by about £20-30.

Only enthusiasts will opt for these cards. It would be nice for the manufacturers to offer this to the enthusiast market, Gainward did this briefly with Innovatek I think (aint seen it done since...i should probably shut up).
