Why have a 6800GS when then can go with a 7300GS. Wll the 7300GS sucks but still. Why not wait for a 7xxx card. When quad sli is released the price of the normal 7800GTX and GT should fall way down.

I also say why get a card that doesn'y support NVIDIA's intellisample technology. Even the 7300 supports that. The card is a good one but a reference can be overclocked from the box to match that speed and performance. I say stay away from the 6xxx series of cards. Go with the 7xxx. Even one of those 2 GPU on one board 6600GTs will beet this card. And there cheaper.

It does support intellisample technology, just like every other NVIDIA video card... a 7300 GS is a lot slower than this card - the 7300 GS is slower than a GeForce 6600 DDR2. Quad SLI will not drive the price of the GTX and GT down, G71 should do that, but that's not expected until March.

A dual 6600GT board does not beat off a 6800 GT - this card is faster than a 6800 GT by a considerable margin. We reviewed an overclocked 6600 GT Duo a while back and the 6800 GT was either equal to it or faster in all cases: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...x6600gt/1.html

SLI is unfortunately not much of a solution, IMHO. I know that's blasphemy coming from a dude working with a hardware review site, but come on...double the money for not even 50% performance increase. Quad will only make the whole premise more ridiculous (and create a wonderful footwarmer).

Though I'm personally all for waiting to see what the 7600 brings, let's keep in mind that some people don't want to wait until (insert date here) for it. Most of them are mid-level graphics buyers that have no real need to run at 1600x1200 res with all details maxed. The 6800GS provides a great alternative to this, allowing them to get a pretty good deal on a card that is fast enough to not be totally unusable for a while.

Don't get too sucked in by the nomenclature...just because it's 6-series doesn't mean it's already done and set to be put to pasture. It's still a good card, particularly for the money.

Nice article, interesting hardware when considering something better than 9800pro to go with a p4 2.8 northwood and a gig of value memory...not too bad for games...

So indeed, it would be nice to have one for AGP but seems that there aren't too many to choose from...it seems that it's planned for PCI-E migrators and other budget mice...

XFX GeForce 6800GS Extreme 256MB AGP was the only one I could find here, priced 270 euros, pretty salty...but then again, it's got pretty decent stock clocks too (450 / 1050). Weirdly, the card doesn't actually exist on XFX homepage at the moment...but I guess it isn't anything out of the ordinary.
