Uhh first one . anyway i dont think that the 1gig nano is something i would buy. Why? For a lil money extra you get the 2gig! The price differents is just not big enough to make the 1gig atractive(sp?) to me.
just my 2cents!

I'm assuming those ipod speakers look better in the flesh cause they certainly don't look all that great in the photos. As for the 1gig ipod, you're probably right but I'm still happy with my 15gig 3rd gen.

Interesting stuff, especially the thermometer might come in handy, IF it would be fed by a AAA battery. No way in hell am I going to spend a fortune on a gadget like that and then spend another on the small batteries!

And seriously guys, what's with the fingerprints (again!) on the nano photos?

"also found sound quality really improved when we hooked up a Sony ATRAC player to the AUX input of the speakers (yes, we know that's like heresy...)"

yep sound quality from the IPOD sucks, even when you replace the defualt headphones. Shame the majority seem not to apreciate audio quality anymore, if anything the huge number of 128kbs mp3's Itunes sells is evidence of this.

Having played with them in the office, I don't think they are ugly at all. At the very least, no more ugly than any other competing product. The difference with these is that they sound WAAAAY better than anything else in it's pricepoint, and indeed, better than more expensive sets.

Crazy fast folding

I looked at that little video and realized that it is the same technique that Martha Stewart has been demonstrating on here show since shortly after returning from her "time off".

Bah I stay away from overpriced iPods. Why would I pay NZ$258 for a 1GB iPod when I can get a 1GB deneric player for >$100. It may have less features, but then I only use it for Music.
The Thermometer is a good idea if they can bring the price down a bit.

iPod Shuffle 1GB: 109€
iPod Nano 1GB: 158€
iPod Nano 2GB: 209€
iPod Nano 4GB: 259€

If I only needed 1GB then I would probably get a Shuffle. It saves me a nice buck plus its a Memory Stick, wich always comes in handy!

If I would really want the screen and the flashy look, I would probably get a 2GB model.

And for r4tch3t : Apple iPod has a 1GB model with less features for 100$ , the shuffle!

Link to the Thermometer

I noticed that the link to the thermometer (by clicking on the image of the thermometer on the opening page) was wrong yesterday.

Being British, I decided to say absolutely nothing.

I thought someone else might have pointed it out...

Anyway, you missed out the /bits/ in the link.

That's all....

If anyone cares, "Q" basically means "cute" in Japanese. I can't make out the character right after "Q" (the picture is very blurry and my Japanese vocab is terrible), but the rest of it says: "surprise support gear". In English. Sort of. It's hard to explain.

Those small barreries do last a heck of a long time in watches and other small stuff. Im guessing the thing should also last quite a long time if you dont use it continousley every day.

Ipod, hmmmmmm..... not bad but very expensive, if you need music then buy something that sounds good, but many ppl don't really care about the sound quaility. The thermometer is interesting, the only problem is that it laks range. The concept is interesting, and if it where a little cheaper it could be a very interesting object to keep arround the house. As for the Q box, I don't know what I'd keep in it. But the ideea is not bad.......
