Network problem
I am currently at a LAN and we've got a problem with my computer, I can connect to the internet, but I can't use msn messenger, when I click to troublshoot it says that theres a problem with the keyports.
I can view the other computers shared files, but they cannot view mine, I can't see their games when they host. I can use any other program that uses the internet, eg. limewire, gamespy arcade Please help, this is bugging the hell out of me...

I know it's basic, but try disabling XP firewall or/and any other firewall you have. One way connection problems tend to be based in firewalls.

it could be to do with the port settings. Does the modem/router that your connecting have UPnP?
MSN messenger needs seperate ports to run so that it dosent get confused. If the modem hasnt got UPnP your version of Messenger will try to connect on the same ports used by your friend and it wont work. |
