PSP Video converters

Own a PSP? We test three free tools - PSP Video 9, 3GP and ATI Avivo - to convert video from a PC to PSP. Speed, quality of the output, and ease of use of each are all under the magnifying glass. The winner may surprise you.

Great article. I've been using PSPVideo9 with good results but would like to try the ATI software - although I'll have to find the hacked version since I only have NVIDIA cards.

How about a poll for people who have tried them?

I'll stick my vote in for PSPVideo9 - they also do a good version for the iPod with simular GUI

Why can't you play back video the same resolution as the PSP screen?

I guess thats the main selling point of UMDs.

However since UMDs aren't selling, maybe this restriction will be lifted in the future.

I won't be persueded that the PSP is a good device to watch videos on until this is sorted out.

The sole reason, skedders, is that it's a measure Sony put in place to cripple home-encodes in the hope that people will buy UMD. In fact, I read recently they will be phasing out UMD and moving to digital distribution (along with the rest of the universe)
