MC2005 vs. Firefox

I recently got a new laptop with mc2005 and I cannot install the wmp plugin for firefox because it says no plugin found. I have mp10 installed and i cannot do reinstall because when I do that it says there is a newer version installed.

Are there any known conflicts between the two or am i alone on this?
