OCD
From Wikipedia: "Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder, more specifically, an anxiety disorder. OCD is manifested in a variety of forms, but is most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive (repetitive, distressing, intrusive) thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or rituals) which attempt to neutralize the obsessions."
I'm pretty sure my condition isn't that bad, but hey, I've never been diagnosed either Thanks for the comments guys, I just woke up, so let's get something to eat and then I'm going to tackle the front fan and if there's time the rear fan also. Janne

Front fan...
Okay, got some work done on the front fan so let's update again
On with the pics... ![]() "So what kind of extensions would madame like to have? Oh, black, red and yellow ones. Sounds awful, but fine by me." ![]() ![]() After that it was time to do the cable sleeve dance... ![]() ![]() ...and install it back in the case. ![]() There's a perfect sized hole in the front panel, so let's route the cable trough there. ![]() ![]() Had a bit of problems when taking these pics, but there it goes under the front ports and up the other side. ![]() And there's the connection to the Akasa fan controller. That's it for now, tomorrow I'll have more time to work on this thing. Until next time Janne

Thanks for your comment Klikka_bZerk. There'll be a lot of things made from orange acrylic when I get my hands on it, including a new front for the case. But more on that later
Janne

Hey all!
I've been modding like a crazy person for the last two days, so if everything goes well, there's going to be a huge update tomorrow. Good night everybody. Janne

New stuff...
I'm back and if I recall right, I promised you an update. A huge one to be exact
Well here we go. Let's start with the little things and work our way up the ladder. Firstly some new things I bought for the project. ![]() Now I know what a dremel is ![]() To go with that I thought it was a good idea to buy safety goggles as well. Also there's a step drillbit and some rocker switches which are coming into play later on... ![]() There's a collection of wetsandingpapers (is that a word?). ![]() I bought this for flamepolishing and for some other purposes. ![]() Here it is in action ![]() This is my new mind-expansion pack...actually it's acryl "glue" and some syringes and needles for applying it. ![]() Finally something that is going in the case. Let's see if they make a difference. I also ordered a Sandisk 12 in 1 memorycard reader and the other black Nexus Drive-a-way. They should be here tomorrow. Next up: PSU silencer window mod

PSU silencer window mod...
When I woke up this morning, I saw the PSU silencer which came with the case. As I was trying to get my eyes open I thought that it'd be cool to make a window in that thing...let's get modding
![]() First I masked the thing and drilled holes to the corners. ![]() This is how it looked like after I had dremeled it open. ![]() And after a bit of filing and sanding this was the case. ![]() After I was satisfied with the silencer I cut out a window for it. Here it is already sanded, don't want to bore you with the details on that ![]() ![]() ![]() The window was attached to the silencer with double-sided tape... ![]() ...like this. ![]() ![]() Looks pretty good when installed in the case don't you think Next up: Rocker switches

Rocker switches...
I decided to install two rocker switches in the case to control the lighting. I have to thank modsquad for the idea. Although he abandoned them in favor of dip-switches, they looked like they would fit in my case perfectly. Also a shout goes out to modsquad for being a modder who does inspiring things for all of us to enjoy.
Well on with the installation procedure. ![]() At this point the other hole was already done and the new one was drilled with 3mm drill. ![]() From there it was drilled to 12,8mm with a step drillbit. ![]() After that I attacked with the biggest drillbit I had, a 15,5mm one. ![]() From there on it was dremelwork. ![]() ![]() The switches were installed in their holes. There you can also spot the place where dremel got a bit carried away ![]() To fix that I slapped a bit of black ink where the mistake was. In the pic the ink is still wet so it's looking much better now. And to top things off... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ...I made a shroud to cover the mistake and give the switch area a nice glow ![]() And finally this is how they look from inside the case. Next up: The shroud

Thanks GT40. I'm not sure if I'm going to be using the acrylic shroud for the rocker switches yet, but I just had to try how it looks. I'm working on another update and it's going to be the money shot, stay tuned
Janne

The shroud...
Okay, here it is, the thing I've been working on for the last 3 days, hope it's something you'll like
So basically I decided to make a shroud in the lower part of the case which "hides" the wires coming from the PSU as well as the PSU itself. Still it's letting the air flow trough pretty easily so I don't think it's going to be a problem when ventilation is considered. Let's get to work then shall we? ![]() This was the tool of choice for the job. ![]() The acryl was marked for sawing the part out. ![]() And after a bit of sawing we have the freshly cut piece laying on the table. ![]() ![]() From there I went on and bent the bugger. I didn't take pics of the process for some reason. ![]() To make the air flow to the PSU as well I made a hole in it. Here are the corners done with a holesaw. ![]() And after attacking it with a hacksaw we have a hole with rounded corners. After that it was pretty much sanding and polishing. Here's the finished product. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() To attach the shroud to the case I fabricated an attachment point which was then glued to the shroud like this... ![]() When the shroud was ready it was installed in the case (not permanently though). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() There it sits. I might have to attach the rear also somehow, but that'll have to wait until I get the PSU which is going in there. Also there's a mesh made for that hole, but I'm not sure if I'm going to use it. At least it will be painted black if I do decide to go with it. Ok, that's it for tonight. Tomorrow I might be able to get the divider plate ready and fans and the front ports installed back in the case. See you then and keep them comments coming, I love getting feedback Good night everybody! Janne

I really like that shroud - I'm putting together a v1000 myself (see my PM please
) and I've been trying to gulp down all the ideas I can handle. I really like the window on the back PSU cover, it is very tasteful.
