Hey Right now I have a single 80w pelt that will be cooling a 7900gtx (it's underpowered I know) which I'd like to bump up to a 172w pelt but I dont have the power...yet. Anyways, if I were to add a second 7900gtx+ another 80w pelt would I be ok with my 360gts Black ice (Tripple 120mm rad) the radiator right now is dedicated to the gpu and I have another for the cpu with a 226w pelt. (both are on their own loops)

    Gimme your thoughts

and no I do not want a 7950gx2. Too expensive as of right now and I cant pelt cool them (I like to go low)

Well I think a 360GT will easily cope with 2 80W pelts as the rad can hold alot of load :)

The two cards will be about 75 Watts each. Add to that the two 80 Watts pelts, and you get 310 Watts to get rid of.

A 360GT can dissipate about 9702 BTU per hour at 100CFM effective; multiply that by 0.29 to get 2813 Watts. Consider that a quiet 120mm fan will generate about 30CFM effective through the rad, it will dissipate (very roughly) about 800 to 900 Watts. I think it should cope. :)

yes it will. you would be wise to pick up a meanwell power supply for your videocard pelts. it will reduce a lot of strain on your PSU. they make some parrallel models that have multipul output that you can adjust the voltage for each output. in theory if you had one big enough you could power you 226, and your 2 178 off one supply.

I have a meanwell 320w for my cpu but I'd like a 600w that could handle a 172w and my 226w (maybe upgrade to a 320w on the CPU) then I could place the 320w meanwell somewhere else to power the pelt for my second videocard If I chose to go that route. As of now I'm sticking with the 80w unless it cant handle a 7900gtx. I know my 1900xtx overpowered it and I was at like 50*C at load : (

Yah for the 1900 you need a powerful little tec, I did see a post were some on put a 226 on one... i think that is a little over kill but the 178's would do fine.

I sold it cuz I cant stand catalyst. It's gunna be a 7900gtx which is much cooler so i hope the 80w will keep it chilly.
