I'm really excited about the Photosynth project by Microsoft. I think it's going to be great.

this program will be good, especialy for wowing uni tutors like that program stitcher, my tutors were amazed when i made a 360 degree picture of the studio and made it so you could look around it. ^_^

1) the link is screwed, you put 1 too many http in, and missed the colon on the second one
Code:
http://http//forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=120006
2) Personally i think this is a FASCINATING idea, and if they pull it off, i think this could be the dawn of 3d cameras or something
If they can do this - great
Wonder how much it will cost though

Well I think the servers would not cost more than Flickr or YouTube, and the CPU power could be used from users themselves. So let's say I upload 512MB of pictures. I would have to keep the Photosync Application open while uploading and a bit more, while mine CPU would be connected to a Swarm of CPU goodness working through the images and arranging them, making connections.

Kinda like those collaborative research "Use your Idle CPU for Medicine" applications.

I think through this it could be quite easily possible. Add small subscription fee for server costs and you have a manageable maintenance cost.

probably even more expensive then

£900 for the program and £10 month to use it, sounds about right
