    I do hope they get into the graphics market as it seems quite stagnent at the moment.

    Sounds like the restructuring we had at xerox last summer while i was there on placement, and have now returned to as a grad. The article mentions the job cuts and hiring at the same time to be "an odd mix", however it is often the best method with which to streamline your business, that is of course if your current employees don't have the skills required and aren't suitable to learn them. To use a gardening analagy, prune the old dead wood from the sides and add fertilizer to the soil, get rid of the people that are rubbish, and get in a select few who have the skills needed for the future.

    You do realise that Intel currently lead the graphics market, and have always done?

    wow thats a pretty huge lay off

    no doubt all the higher up people have secure jobs, even though their employees are gone
