Good idea for a niffty little thing like this, alot of things dont require massive graphics, but need multiple monitors.

Hi,
It's nice to occasionally see something simple and effective like this - not something to rave about, but something you look at, mentally tick, and go "yep, fine." Now if only I could find a card reader to plug onto the "card reader" header on my motherboard... has anyone actually seen the hardware to make those active? Phil |

$20 is a brilliant price as it dosent add much cost to such macines, also gives much better compatibility with newer monitirs.....great idea.

If it takes up a x16 PCI-E Slot then why not just spent a little bit more on a low end card like a x1300 or a 7300 there's not much of a price difference. That way you get H.264 decoding aswell

If you work off the mindset that why dont you just spend a little more and get something fifty times better you would soon end up with a pc costing well over a grand. It is just a simple way to get a dvi port on your integrated graphics. Not only that but if you were building a small media box, it would probably work just fine, also its low profile, that means if you were building a slim case it would be handy. Mind you its not anything to rave about. But its nice to see a company make something to cater to the extreme low end users.
Good one

Didnt ATI make a PCI based x1300 or something? when reviewed it showed to have decent clock speeds. Something to show for how much can be pushed out of PCI with a decent gpu to throw in it.
Edit: Yea it was the x1300 by visontek, Reviewed right here on bit-tech: > link <
