Great news really. Although AMD aren't at the top of their game atm, with core 2s being the better CPUs all round, their prices are pretty unbeatable- I've just bought a Turion MK-36 based lappy for £100 less than the Core Duo equivalent, which proves that AMD are still proving to be good competition for Intel.

Purchased a Turion based HP laptop not long ago and I must say I was impressed with it from a laptop standpoint. This is good news I suppose as it now gives dell consumers a choice for intel or amd which is only fair. But I am sure a majority of dell owners could not tell you the difference between amd and intel besides how the word is spelled. They may decide to go with intel just because it was what was in their last home computer. Familiarity.

Which was why when AMD were so much better than intel in just about every way for so long they were still the underdogs.
