They're a bit late bringing this out now, especially as Nvidia have the 6XX series chipset. But good to see it lives up to the reputation of it's older brothers.

680a is 4x4 only, and 680i obviously won't work with AM2 processors.

Sweet board. I have gone DFI in the last 2 years and never regret it. I will not use a MSI, Gigabyte. Fic, QDI boards again. My DFI boards have been the most reliable boards I have ever experienced.

In the review, you havn't put the support bracket for the audio module...

I love DFI boards but when will they come with a cool new lanparty board for the Intel Core 2 Duo processors?! They are way to mutch AMD orientated.

Support bracket? What you see in the pics is what you get.

No, there is a support bracket included with the DFI boards that come with the Karajan Audio module, it is there to take the strain off the connection.

Both myself and my mate have the same boards, and we both have the plastic support bracket. It's a white colour, although, they used to be black.

Edit: Also, on the DFI website, there is a picture that shows it on the motherboard, with the audio module connected

We never got one. Plus the SATA ports are yellow on our board, not black.

I like DFI but i won't get an AM2 board. Is there any word on when the 680i DFI boards are coming out?

I had a meeting with DFI in October and yes, they're designing a 680i board. Rest assured DFI's engineers are incredibly impressed with the chipset - I can't wait.

While the tweeking options are great it would be nice to have the default settings stable - I suspect a lot of ~~noob~~ "1337" users are going to go out & buy this board then have no idea why it isn't stable.

it's good that it's a nice board but you can't help but feel that their target market of presumably overclocking enthusiasts are currently more likely to be looking at a Core 2 Duo setup ...

like the look of the bios, I recomend just googling any bios option you are not sure what does... always used to work for me. (apart from AGP cache sizes where there is so much disinfo it's not even funny! )

how much time have you had to mess about in the bios on the board? have you found use for so many crazy options. it all seems ott to me, like they are trying to get customers with loads of tweaks that actually know one needs,

Well they are covering all their bases. For those who want that kind of power it's there but if you don't know what it does or you don't need it just leave it auto. Like anything though, playing can give you a good learning experience after all only voltages are likely to kill something but memory timings are just a CMOS reset.

This MB has been out for quite a while now and a revised BIOS is already availably from DFI.

DFI is IMO the best MB. my LP 925X-T2 is the best board I've ever had.

DFI caters to the enthisiast/gamer market, which primarily used AMD CPUs --> DFI builds primarily AMD boards
