Project Corsair Li By Snakez

The Stacker mod will take some while , because company is closed for holidays and i can't work on chroming now , so in the meanwhile i will start working on my other project.
This mod i'm making for Corsair , so will use their watercooling , memory & psu in it.



First thing , put in some of the hardware , just to see how it looks and get the idea's flowing .











Yess , i like it :P

Then remove the hardware again.
And take the case apart.
The case will need a lot of work , so everything needs to go out







The window will be the Corsair logo.
And offcourse i will use a lot of plexi & led's.
The rest you guys will see , while the process continues :P

Today a small update.
Don't want to see backside of dvdrom & cables.
So i will put a coverplate there.
Only this case has round pieces there, they have to go , otherwise i will look strange.


First measure what has to go , and mark it.





Then pick up the and take first piece out.



Also the other side

While i was at it , i also put the drivebays a little to the back.







And the one for the floppy too.
Only something was in the way.



But with the it is gone in a sec

Today started on the coverplate to put in the case , behind it i can stash most cable's , and hd's & dvdrom backside wont show anymore

First work on a piece of alluminium.


Saw it the right size.


Bend it the right size.


a piece out to make it fitt.


The result.

And wil it fitt?









I kept a little opening on top and side of the allu plate, because behind allu plate will come a plexie plate.
In this plate i will make some leds , lighting it up.
So i will get a nice lighted edge around the allu plate.
Now have to wait till modstuff arrive.

Let's put in some coolers , to see how the lighting looks till now.
The rest of the lightning will be done by leds.

Those drive bays look nice and tidy now, not the most attractive case imo, but cant wait to see the final result.

I'm liking the cable shroud snakez, thats good stuff. Its not overly complicated, reasonably easy to do and looks great, good idea as well, I can see that being copied.

Today a small update.
Waiting for supply's from Acryan.

Did put some lights behind the front.
For a nice and shiny edge around de drivebays.



Don't see much of it with lights on , so let's put them out.

Nope will make a hole in the cover, to create airflow.

Cover plates look really good but They make it very hard to work around from my experience. Good thing this case goes to corsair so it ends up being their problem lol. Great work so far.

Let's start working in the Corsair Li again.
Mercury is on Cebit show now , so some time left to work some on this case again.

Started sawing out the window.
Needs some handwork , will be next job.









today received package from Corsair

Wcblocks for northbridge and the Nvidia 7900GTX cards that will go in the case. Also the coolingunit for the Dominator memory that is on the way.
