Shame the cloth case is made from Flecktarn camos, but then it IS the German military's camo of choice.

My only complaint with this system is that all the cables come out above the DVD drive - I would have preferred the drive to be above those (in the lid).

wow.. that's impressive.. he obviously has all the right tools to get the manufacturing done... I agree about the CD drive though.. I didn't think of that until you mentioned it, Tyinsar.. .that could get a little messy when you're trying to plop CD's in

I didn't see any means of locking closed case. what happens if you lift it holding only the upper part?

Hi folks
thanks for your nice comments and i must admit that it makes me proud
that my casemod is on the bit-tech news. Thanks

Please excuse my english is not so perfect, that's the reason why i only put my
worklogs on german modding forums... it's hard to explaim something if you dont
know the correct words for it

@Tyinsar this was the best place for the dvd-drive, because now you got a better look
on the wd raptorX (and the raptorx is directly in front of the rear fan).

@dream caster no there is nothing to close the case at the moment.
I made two little holes on the back of the upper part and right there i will
do something from aluminium to lock the case with two thumb-screws - but at the moment
it's just an entry on my to-do-list

Welcome to the forums Benny (your English is good so far)

This is what I was suggesting:

Please understand that I do not want to take anything away from the wonderful case you have crafted. I really like the way your case looks now. I especially like the DVD at the "back" (which would now become the front for me) and all the work you have done on this is Very professional.

What I am suggesting is just the way I would prefer it if it was made for me - I think this suggestion would still allow you to show off the raptorX and all the internal details and it might make your next case even better.

ok now i understand what you mean

But when the dvd-drive is in the top, then i think i got some Problems with
the stability of this construction - or i have to use a slimline dvd
and when the top is closed and the Led-lights inside the top are on,
then you will not see very much of the raptorx.

So in my opinion is this construction with the dvd on the bottom
the best solution

I think the construction problems should be easy to fix even with the full size DVD - but - you are correct about the DVD blocking some of the view through the mesh. To me that view is not as important as the problem of the cables hanging above the DVD. However, I understand that part of the design of this case is to show off the hardware inside, and your solution does that very well.

Hi Benny

I remember one of your shuttle mods from before the purple/red and aluminium one that was good, but this is even better

Would be nice to see an English work log for your next project here in bit tech. Any chance of that ?
