For a second then, I thought Arctic Cooling had released a new CPU HSF.

It's good to see AMD catching up, or attempting to.

This is good. AMD closer on the heels of Intel means more competition, and thus even better products at even lower prices.

Let's hope, however, that the slight issues with the 90->65nm die shrink don't get passed down to the 45nm die.

Of course, they could have had these issues with the 65nm die precisely because they're working so hard on the 45nm process...

This could and or would push Intels 45nm prices down But even so, this is good news on both chip fronts, and im waiting patiently for the new Intel Cores.

I am too. But why do you think it'll push down Intel's prices? I don't think it will before AMD launches its own 45nm products. I bet it'll take 3-6 months to let us feel the prices being cut down. Or do you see C2Ds being cheaper right now than they were before AMD launched their 65nm chips? They will drop... later.

lol, it does look like a fancy heatsink.

Good news on the AMD front, anyway. Hopefully they're coming up with an equivalent P4<X2/64 cpu.

This came as a bit of a surprise, I wasn't expecting AMD to get on the 45nm bandwagon so quickly. :thum:
I like the picture you used, mmmm all those cores. I wonder if you could link em all up and use the whole wafer as one processor.
