You don't seem to like this one, how does it compare to the Dell E228WFP?

Couldn't a PS3 be connected via an HDMI cable with a DVI convertor? Just a thought...

We don't have a Dell E228WFP yet, but we've been trying to get one.

How big is a 22" screen BTW in terms of dimensions? Is it roughly the same height as a 19" monitor?

Looking to replace one of my 19" screens with a widescreen, but not sure whether to go for a 22" or a 24" right now.

in the market myself, and this was one of the contenders...though not really at the front of the pack...thanks for the review.

I have the 19" widescreen version of this. I find it a good monitor......for the price. Sure you can get better but it does the job for me. I mainly use it for CAD and general desktop usage.

Not sure if you're interested but I found the Iiyama ProLite E2200WS for £199 inc. VAT at http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/...&sourceid=2222

This 22" widescreen samsung seems to be getting some good reception over in the US, as does this 22" widescreen LG monitor. So it might be best if you wait for those two, thats what i'm doing.

By my rough calculations, 47.4cm wide and 29.6cm high...that's just screen estate, add on more for the frame.

Ah yeah, that would make it roughly the same height as a 19" monitor.

Always wanted a 24" one, but might start looking for a decent 22" one.

But 24" is biggar!

Argh!

isn't 1680x1050 the same as the 20" ers ?

Therefore, why do you want a 22" over a 20", Is it like a 19" over a 17" screen ?
Personally i like my 20" dell, and its pretty dang big too, going up 2"s for no extra real estate seems pretty pointless ...

Good article, now go out and review the LG L226WTX-BF of the BenQ FP222WH. I'm gonna have to go ahead and ask you to have that up before saturday...yeaaaah.

I have the Dell E228WFP and the horizontal viewing angle is fine but the vertical angle is ridiculous (massive brightness changes with small changes in vertical viewing angle). It's decent for the price plus it has HDCP (which I hope to never need).

Yep. My Dell 19" & 22" are almost perfect matches for height.

Bigger dot pitch is easier on the eyes for text and such plus 22" just feels bigger and slightly more immersive.

my 20.1" dell screen actually seems slightly shorter then my 19" screen

but it does have more pixels, plus it looks miles better (brightness and quality)

I'm getting a 22" monitor, probably ordering it tomorrow. The LG and BenQ I mentioned in my post a couple posts up are my choices. When I saw a monitor on the main page I was hoping beyond hope that it was one of those...oh well.

I think I'm getting the BenQ. The LG boasts a 3000:1 contrast ratio, but that sounds like BS. Besides the BenQ has an HDMI input. The LG only has HDCP through the DVI.
