IMO it's a good thing, the 2.4GHz band is currently flooded with everything, it has 2.4GHz wireless, 2.4GHz AV signals and a lot more. And the Wireless band only has 5MHz increments between channels

2.6GHz is a relatively "clean" spectrum so you'll get less interference meaning less parity errors and a stronger signal strength.

It was rushed between keynotes tbh. Ive a LOT more detailed information on it but I'm seeing the wireless people later in the week so, given time, will put it all into a round up article when I get back (or on the plane, YAY for 10.5 hr flight but only a 3 hour battery).
