As in, the past tense of orientate? What the hell does orientate mean?

(And yes, I am aware that orientate and orientated are now in the dictionary as synonyms of orient and oriented, but that's just because if something gets misused long enough it becomes "common" and therefore part of the language..... That doesn't make it right.)

(Sorry - but this word is on my top 5 list for most annoying misuses of the English language - right up there with 'Electronical')

(Have I turned into a jerk all of a sudden?)
