At last! Huzzah! Can't wait for Portal, it's almost more exciting than Episode 2 tbh... I died a little inside once TF2 became a cartoon-style game though.

No way, TF2 is going to be an awesome game!

I love the way Valve have tried something a little different with the cartoon thing, not many big companies would risk doing anything even slightly original these days!

HL2:EP2 with TF2 and Portal is an awesome package.. The consoleversions even include HL2 and HL2:EP1 aswell, which makes it an even more awesome package for the price.. To bad the consoleversions are probably also the reason of the latest delays, instead of 1 version they have to work on 3 versions now..

Just played through the teaser game on Aperaturescience.com, that's some seriously weird stuff. Not really a game imho.

I saw a trailer for TF2 and details about it while in Tunis with AMD and its seriously jawsome I hope they release the trailer to the public soon cause it's really very entertaining.

There's a LOT more too it than just cell shading.

Indeed, XIII was quite a funky game! NOLF2 was almost down the same vein, but without the cartoony models.

World of Padman? Fun open-source multiplayer game, which doesn't need serious models/graphics to be massive good multiplayer fun.

Back TFA though - if I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, I can't wait for Portal

NOLF was an excellent series. My favourite gun of all time in a game is the Shephards P38 in the first one. Three silent headshots was so satisfying.

Ahem.

That said, there are trailers on Steam for those who want a look. Check out the trailers for portal though - much more entertaining.

more than waiting for a regular game except its a lot shorter.
they have you at their mercy if you want to play it you just

If it's the one with the guys doing airbourne-ballet with rockets then it's already out.

Otherwise GIVE NOW!!!

I think I want Portal and Team Fortress 2 more than EP2...

From what I've seen of it, the engine does distance fine, it was always just the level design of half-life 2 and CS:S that have focused on a more moderate scale.

Definetely does scale a lot better than most of the FPS engines on the market anyhow, the worst of course probably being the doom3 engine.

Edit add : the release of terror from the deep on steam comes as bigger news to me though, it seems to me that it even if only a little, backs up the idea that take 2 are serious about the X-Com franchise and makes the rumours that hey will be having Irrational make a sequal that little bit more likely (also, if you dont already have it and you like strategy games, you owe it to yourself to spend £1.50 buying it )

Wait, HL2 Episode 2 isn't out yet? Lol, I always presumed it came out ages ago with all the promotional stuff a few months back, deary me. Personally, I'm looking forward to Portal and TF2 more: Narbocular Drop was awesome and despite the apparently worryingly short length of Portal (a complete FPS novice upon visiting Valve completed the game in less than an hour), it does look lots of fun. TFC was awesome fun, and hopefully TF2 will be just as good. The cartoony style may be EXACTLY the same as Evil Genuis (good game.... ish) but IMO that's a good thing. Cell Shading works very, very well for partiular styles, and thankfully it's a technology that as far as I have seen hasn't been done to death.

Doom 3 scales badly for a reason. The devs thought it best for atmosphere to simulate the claustrophobic environment of the original and to concentrate on the close-up detail.
