Doubt it, they'll whack em in a container with enough food and water for half the journey

Pete (along with WMD and Orac3) was invited. Unfortunately, due to personal commitments he was unable to join us out here.

Wonder when the first Hypercube³ will be released in China. Or a 'new' Puzzlebox.

Not trying to be specifically harsh or stereotypical here but; aren't we just going to wind up seeing loads of clones?
A lot of their commercial market is literally based around ripping off other peoples designs and selling it. How long before they just clone some of the best/greatest mods out there then start selling them on a large basis if it takes off?

I think the real question is, does it matter if someone clones it? I mean we all know who did it first / made the original. Would the fact that someone decided to "clone" your invention not only be a recognition of your awesome mod? Also does most people not really mod for their own benefit? sure we show off our mods here and get praises, suggestions ect. but really only very few people mod as a profession.

It only becomes a pain when the make money/get publicity off the clone. Other than that, its a compliment... sorta

We as modders will know.. Will the everyday populace know? Highly unlikely. Will the companies get away with stealing the work of a poor modder? Highly likely.

You can already see examples of small mods that have been commercialised by manufacturers: LED fans and window-mod hard drives were both invented by the community. However, I can't recall an entire *case* being ripped off.

Most mods (including the ones here in Beijing) involve exotic materials and took 200-1000 hours to build. It would be impossible to replicate with a factory / production line. Nobody has anything to worry about

Never say never.. Remember that every car designed in the west has been copied almost down to nuts and bolts.

I seriously wouldn't bet on that, I'll bet against it though if you wanna take me up on it
