Wasn't C17 destroyed completely for once at the end of ep1?

Paradigm Shifter will become famous soon enough
I bet that despite being 'ahead of schedule' it still won't have it's release date pulled forward. And they'll get Ep 3 out of the door faster? Why am I dubious?

Sure, it was destroyed but that doesn't mean you wouldn't be re-entering the ruins of the citadel to look for info/equipment relating to breen, which is what seemed logical to me

Right, I've still not played Ep1 properly - I started it, but then heard about the Source multi-core update and thought I'd wait (where is that damn update anyway!?).

Ep3 sounds interesting though...

I'm starting to think Portals won't be too good. It will have to have a LOT of atmosphere to balance out what is said to be an incredibly short game that a FPS n00b (a testers mum) finished in under four hours. For a gamer like me that means I'm getting two hours of gameplay.

Which is fine, I'd have that for free or for a small fee, but I don't think that the rest of the episode should be made to wait because of it. Even Narbacular Drop, which the idea Portal was based on, wasn't that fun.

I honestly will not play a game if they go back to Xen. Unless it's VERY good. Xen in the first half life SUCKED. The levels were terrible, abysmal, horrible jumping puzzles that literally made no sense.

Opposing Force did it better, basically just having Xen as a quick cameo with the Displacer and a few of the other plot points in the game.

I really don't like the whole "installment" strategy. Come on. Give me a game every few DirectX revisions that literally blows me away. Half Life 2 was almost perfect, and i think the super gravity gun level was one of the most fun levels I've ever played in any game, ever. I think I was grinning from about when I got my new gravity gun to the point at which I finished the game.

I have to agree with that, HL1 wasn't a great game in general, and was slightly overhyped for what it gave to you in the end. However HL2 is alot better and revisiting Xen in an episode might not be a real bad thing. HL2 has a much sturdier base to explore on, HL1 was kinda... weak, what im trying to say is HL2:EP2 and 3 have a broad area to explore within and if pulled off right by valve could make a very interesting game

Don't write it off right away, i think it could be good.

Anyway, EP2 needs to hurry the hell up, ahead of schedule, pft, its a pity they are already a million years behind schedule, i've been waiting ages for this.

ha ha i know what you mean, the only bad bit about it is that bit of the game is a bit short, you can complete city 17 in about 15 Min's
