I'll prob get flamed for this but I prefer the dx9 look for playing crysis. I "know" that the dx10 looks better but I find the motion blur a bit distracting.and would effect my play. However that aside both versions look insanely good, the DX10 version is like watching a real life movie it's scary. I wonder what crytek next game will look like?

Is it just me, or on the vids, especially the second one, DX9 seems to be AA Off, or maybe only AAx2, but the DX10 ones have AA cranked up as far as it will go. Makes it looks a lot nicer, but it's not exactly as a result of DX10 now is it?

Try the different severs, first one I tried had a top download speed of 20 Kb/s, second one leveled at 300. So yeah, try them all before you settle with one.

It doesn't really feel like these show anything, because each one uses a slightly different scene. There's no way to be objective in your comparison. Useless marketing, in other words

I totally agree spec, I also thought they were using slightly different versions of the same scene, specifically in the second video where it looks like they purposefully turned off effects like rain.
Are they basically saying they have disabled certain effects from DX9? I refuse to believe that DX9 cannot render the rain the second video in any way shape or form. Many other games already have rain.

Seems a little cheeky to me.

I agree completely! Shame that cant have a rolling demo of exactly the same thing with one showing DX9 and DX10. Also the server second from bottom was working at over 900KB/S for me!

Head to gametrailers if you want these video's faster.

Anyways.

The hunter video was obvious crap. The settings were lowered, no doubt.

Wasn't the first video that crytek even luanched for this game, in dx9?

hrmm interesting, the difference is there but not show stopping and I agree Bauul it's almost like they intentionally hobbled the dx9 version lower AA and such

To be honest, i was a little disapointed with both, but that my be due to my poor 7300 in my laptop, the tech demo's look alot better than those, but, does anybody know if crytek/ea are going to release a Demo to the public, or if the game is just going to be released straight out into the field?

Sam

Constant 500Kb/s . Honestly can't see any difference to be quite honest. Not like i have a rig that can play it anyway

You do realise that DX10 is basically DX9 with a lot more overhead so features can be turned on in DX10 without a huge performance hit whereas in DX9 it would result in powerpoint style frame rates. People should really read up on DX10, people don't seem to understand the huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge improvement over DX9 it is....
