lol loving the 'high-tech' drawings, seriously though even just use paint or photoshop if you cant use sketchup!

I like it!

Even the #1 Casemodder 2006 of Holland draws his designs with a pencil. So, it actually works

Haha sorry guys about the sketches. My sponsors wanted their names out there and I desperately needed to get something out for show. Sketchup will come soon and I'll replace these horrible pictures. Sorry for that.

Thanks I appreciate it. Lots of personal obligations right now so this mod will be slow moving. Hope you'll stay for the ride.

As an apology for the horrendous pics that I gave you earlier I am refreshing the design with a few sketch-up pics. These are early pics and are here just to show how the case is coming along in terms of design. They are simple for now but this is because I am going slow in order to get everything perfect. Once I start bending metal it will be very expensive if I come up short by even a few mm. But enough talk. Here we go.

Image number one shows the case structure. With the CD Drives on the left and a dividing wall in the middle. The dividing wall separates th motherboard and the drives making the final effect much cleaner. It will also allow me to do some cool passthroughs with the cables. The dividing wall is much more complex and will be changed tomorrow night when I get back to work.

Image 2 shows the case from the back with the mothaboard cut-out. I've decided not to use a removable motherboard tray because I've found a motherboard plate from an old case that will work better.

Teyber will become famous soon enough
you shouldn't start a thread till you have started the project, its on the rules. But, what do you use for hosting images?

I use photobucket free accounts. They give you about 3 pages for free then you have to make a new account lol. I should just pay for one but I'm cheap. Also I know that you aren't supposed to do this but a lot of time goes into sketchup models and it's nice to get feedback while I'm working on them. Somebody else might notice something important before I screw up.

More sketch-up work and my vision is taking shape. Here's a few more pictures of what I'm going for with the dividing wall. Originally it was going to encompass the HDD's as well but now I'm going to go with split sections so I can add and remove HDD's easier and allow better ventilation for the Hard drives.

taking shape. i'm beginning to like it.
i reckon sketchup should count as part of "starting a project". just as long when they are done planning, they do start it. otherwise its pointless.

my opinion anyways.

Fungry is correct, you should've read the rules:

2. Your first post must contain pics of the actual mod in progress. If all you have is an idea, you don't have a log. If all you have is some conceptual sketches, you don't have a log. If all you have to show is a heap of parts, you don't have a log. This forum is purely for concrete work in progress - the other modding forums are more appropriate for concepts and thoughts.

Well since I'm having everything CNC cut then that is completely accurate. As soon as the planning is finished the work begins.
