Yaaaay! I played Monkey Island when I was too young to do with without cheating and also missed quite a lot of the humour, but Grim Fandango was brilliant!
There are so many wonderful lines in it...

Oh I loved Monkey Island on the Amiga.
I remember there copy protection gizmo which was one of those discs that you had to line up the pictures for the serial code. silly Idea as I pulled the top part of the disc off the bottom and photo copied them both and stuck it bag together and gave back to my friend after copying the floppys. Good Idea but when photocopiers are available it just doeant work. But I loved the original Monley Island and I did buy the second. I dont remember completing them as it got too hard and guides were not so easy to come by with no internet. I dont remember completing any games in those days as a Kid. Good Memories on roll on a decent sequal.

I managed to miss the Monkey Island series...the first LucasArts adventure game I played was Maniac Mansion (the NES version), and years later played DOTT and S&M. Never owned an Amiga though, which is probably why I missed out.
Need to download SCUMMvmDS and obtain copies of the MI games...see what all the fuss was/is about! |

How appropriate, you fight like a cow.
![]() When I heard this news I almost leapt out of my seat with joy! It even tops the news I had yesterday which made me practically soil myself with excitement (see blog). This better not get cancelled though and it better be better than the last game, which was pretty damn awful. Monkey 3 was the last good game, but Monkey 2 is always the best. I remember there were plans for an animated movie a few years ago and it looks really cool, drawn in the style of Monkey Island 3. Unfortunately it got cancelled, mainly because of Pirates of The Carribean swamping the market piratewise with a similar theme (and some identical, copied jokes).

Monkey 3 may have been the last decent one, but wasn't it only 1 & 2 that were done by the original writers?
