Project: Epiphany - 100% complete - ORAC inspired mod

What's up guys

A few days ago i finished a mod i've been working on since the beginning of 2006. I worked very very hard, and now it's finally complete. I called the mod Epiphany.

So let me give you guys the background about this mod before i show it to you.

A few years ago i read a CustomPC magazine and saw the ORAC machine in it. It was really the most amazing mod i had ever seen. To this day, i still believe ORAC to be the most amazing mod. So i decided to do a mod of my own. This was the first real mod that i was to do, and i had absolutely no modding skills whatsoever.

I didn't, however, want to make my case exactly like ORAC. I just wanted it to look similar. I even spoke to Peter himself and he gave me all his best wishes, and wished me luck for this mod. I still need to show him. hehehe.

Anyway, here it is. Let me know what you guys think

And one last time.... full case pic:

The eject buttons in action

Can't believe i'm finished

I really like it, its a little busy for my tastes, but I love the blue/clear/white/chrome colour scheme. Although I think something should be done with those right side Antec fans on the radiator. Some kind of fancy grill will cap those off nicely.

Thanks guys

@Matt: I actually did make grilles for the radiator fans, have a look:

I chose not to use them though. I thought it looked nicer without them

Looks fantastic but is there no way to tidy cabling?

Gotta say I agree with Malccy and matt its looks great but I prefer minimal cable in a case, if it cant be helped then hey its great anyways, but if the cables were tidy and you could see in i think it would be way better.

The messy cables are the point of the mod. I WANTED messy cable. I generally hate cables, but when i saw ORAC, and how frikken awesome those cables looked, i wanted the same look and feel, hence all the cables.

Nice, really nice.

I generally don't like cable mess, but in this case (haha! ) it looks good. It kind of gives it a organic look.

One thing, though. It seems like the PSU is sitting at an angle. Like it's to heavy for the mount.

Nice fan grill design -simple and effective. I also like how the blue looks with the chrome behind it. I'm thinking about using chrome now thanks to this... Maybe glitter will be cheaper... I suddenly have an image of a macaroni and glitter computer.

Like smilodon said, the first thing that stuck out was that the PSU is sitting crooked.
Other than that it does have a very nice ORAC look to it, good job. And you said you had NO modding expierence, then definately, its a job well done!

Thanks guys

About the PSU. It is, in fact, standing at a slight angle. The pictures really really exaggerate that angle. In real life it's almost not even noticeable. I just need to put a little nut in the bottom screws, that'll sort it all out.

Come on Bit-tech staff, can i have a front page? :P

My favorite part is the front panel, very nice and clean, especially with your fan grille design which I think goes really well with the case and could easily be the case's logo. Nice job.

Thanks again guys

Mankz, it was originally a Gigabyte plexi case. However now there's not a single panel of the case that wasn't modded
