ViewSonic VX2435wm 24" widescreen
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...4_widescreen/1
ViewSonic makes a beeline for the 24" widescreen LCD market with the VX2435wm. Can it compete with the established kings, Samsung, Dell and BenQ?

I'd allways choose a Viewsonic over a Samsung or a BenQ.
IMHO Viewsonic make some of the best moniters, I adore my VX922 and by Brothers VX2025. |

Just wondering, is TN running under Vista for you? I love this game but I can never get it to work with Vista..

Hm. While it sounds like a decent piece of kit overall, I think the Dell 2407 really pushes it out of the option running - unless, of course, you've had bad experiences with Dell and have therefore discounted them. The adjustability, card reader and USB hub are all extras in the 2407 that increase it's usefulness drastically. (Portrait mode is so useful sometimes!)

The thing I don't like about this monitor is that it has an HDMI port, and I'd prefer it if display companies would start pushing the DisplayPort standard instead.
Royalty fee FREE! = cheaper products. Higher bandwidth Runs on a lower voltage ...to name a few good points The other thing I'd like to have seen in this monitor is an LED-backlit panel, but that's maybe asking for a bit too much. |

What is a 9 in 2 card reader? I am probably being stupid, but surely it is stuck in one side of the screen so is one unit?

I'd prefer having a proper mega-compatible card reader on a cable on my desk that have one build into the side of my screen.
I mean, who can be bothered to lean over and look at wierd angles when you want to put a memory card in! Having said that, I'd take basically any free 24" TFT any day of the week |

Ive always liked viewsonic, but I'm very happy with my benq. However I noticed the viewing angles aren't as good as they could be. Especially compared to my friends 23inch apple display. But that thing has horrible contrast anyways...

interesting you say that busterboo, as BenQ quotes a 176° viewing angle... I can't remember how good it was when we looked at it, but I'm surprised you've said that.

Well, you can see the display from all angles, but if you look at it on the side the contrast looks far worse then looking straight on. My friends apple 23inch looks the exact same from all angles.

Read this review nearly 3 weeks ago on Trustedreviews site. Don't know if that site is a sister site but same review on 2 sites = poor show.

It was a Sunday afternoon review and not everyone at bit-tech reads a TR review. We felt it was applicable and decided to republish it for those who hadn't seen it, that's all. ![]() TR do mostly monitors, although we have a new "gaming" one in from Asus which bit will specifically do in the near future. It's a point taken, but it's also something we don't do very often, and as you know we only ever do stuff we think you guys should read/would like to read. |
