Gigabyte Poseidon Chassis
http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...te_poseidon_/1
Is the Gigabyte Poseidon a little fish in a big ol' ocean of PC cases, or is it a diminutive sea god in disguise? Grab your tackle, we're about to find out!

I don't like the look of it at all, ports should not be visible when not in use, hence why I like covers.
Also, Joe touches on the poseidon projection, any chance of a photo of it? Last edited by DougEdey; 11th Jul 2007 at 12:20. |

Heh, I've got the Gigabyte 3D Aurora 570 and it always struck me how lame the projection feature was. Fine if you've got a flat white surface, but try making it out on carpet.

That statement is made of win.
I like the look of the case, except for the stupid sticky out rectangular bit on the front. If it wasn't for that weird protrusion, I might have actually chosen this case for my next build. But as it's there, I just absolutely couldn't bear looking at it.

Cool review, I have this case and I agree with the it, but then again, I would.
![]() BTW, you can customise the logo, it’s actually a very easy concept and it works well. You can change it to your name / handle – its up to you. I’m glad to see Gigabyte is coming out with some good looking and quality cases.

Looks smart but I wish more cases had removable motherboard trays - it does make building a much simpler process.

You're not a doctor, they wear white coats! You're actually the Latvian Mafia!
We just found out half an hour ago about the changing logo thing: apparently there was a piece of plastic in the box but absolutely no documentation about it :| |

Well, from what I've seen, it looks respectable if uninspiring. Better perhaps than some others we've seen recently, I'd always spend that few quid extra for a 'premium' case.

Ah whooptee frigging doo. Gigabyte took an ARGUABLY overused chassis (CoolerMaster Centurian and Ammo Series, Sunbeam's Numerous cases, Enermax's Chakra, some of NZXT's stuff, etc), added a fan with some pretty lights, 25 cent rubber plugs, and a variable reistor, then jacked up the price. So freaking what? What makes this case so special, that it merits getting ANYTHING else on the same chassis. using a 3/4" Bimetal holesaw, some rubber lip grommets, and a little bit of patience hanging your external rad? Nothing really.
Oh, cheesemonkey. I forgot about the projection. What a useful feature! Seriously, though... it would be nice if Gigabyte innovated with their own chassis for once. Don't give me piff about the Aurora being unique, they pulled that modified card out the ass of the same OEM that cranks out NZXT's Zero.

Fantastic case, I agree with the review completely, I put my mums rig in it and it is whisper quiet, you can't actually tell that it is on, the fans are temp controlled by the bios with the S3 mobo I've put in there.
Very impressive case, looks very nice in the flesh that's for sure, and the projected logo, whilst a bit tacky, is a god send to tell if the thing is on or not

I have one adn I love it - really very nice looking case, solid and silent.
The projector logo might be gimmicky, but at least its a nice feature - you can change it, or paint it black and have nothing showing - it's your choice. Also, I like the fact that it gives me a choice of side-panels - Window or that mesh-grid option - no other case offers that choice. Cool review :-)
