    Quake 3 on X360?
    Oh the horror..

    Railgunning with an analog stick..

Porting FPSes to Consoles..Just because they can, doesn't mean they should..

Rage looks graphically stunning, but I'll be interested to see if the game lives up to the engine or if ID are just providing another (good) new engine with a promotional game attached.
Either way, it's definitely one to keep an eye on. :D

I'd be happy to see Quake3 on the 360 if you could plug in a keyboard an mouse.

Dual analogue isn't that bad you know, and why shouldn't they release it on consoles as they can? several people would love to buy this game on XBLA (Seen from the reaction to the rumours about it ages ago) and it's not like they're forcing you to buy it or somehow making the whole quake name a joke is it?

not trying to have a go but I really don't understand why people have a go at them doing stuff like this when really it's just giving fans something they like.

For me it'll be an instant purchase.

Also heard a rumour of it coming to DS

True, of course, but it's not all that good either. :p

Same here, but then I have Quake 3 on my PC with native keyboard & mouse support and none of the Dumbed-down-for-consoles™ changes which will inevitably be made. :p
Bear in mind that the masses will be playing it on their joypads, so changes will have to be made to accomodate them.

If people want Quake 3 on their 360s then great, port it and let them have it - It's no skin off my nose. I just don't think it'll work and I don't think the Halo-adoring masses will appreciate it.

Quake 3 'worked' because it was fast-paced, fluid and designed as unadulterated deathmatch fun.
Turning it into an awkward, slow, inaccurate console-FPS will kill everything about Q3A that made it a good DM game.

Maybe they'll get it right.. but I think there are 2 chances of that. :p
I won't be playing it on my non-existent 360 so I don't really care all that much :p

(If it seems like I'm bitter, it's only because I'm sick of good games being ruined by console ports - At least in this case the game is being ported late, so the PC version goes untouched. Shadowrun & Deus Ex Invisible War, anyone?)

Graphics look superb. Especially the facial movements and the body movements. Is it DX10 based? Knowing Carmack, he probably stuck with DX9, but who knows...

It's DX9 based, Carmack's stated that in actual fact, there's nothing in DX10 that remotely interests him. Looks frigging sweet for a DX9 game.

And can I just point out... native cloth physics. That's on in the eye for Ageia.

The competitive driving on Rage looks nice. Dangerously nice.
