Intel X38 to arrive with two new technologies

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2007/08...technologies/1

Intel is to launch two new technologies with X38: Extreme Memory and Extreme Tuning Utility. Good news: P35s might get it. Bad news: DDR3 only.

Yeah I'll be interested to the read either (or both) reviews. My friend was just given... given and engineering sample of what we like to believe is a E6900. So he's in the market for a new motherboard to get the best out of his new found, prize possession.... the git. >.<

This does look nice and ayecarumba is that a big chipset!! Looks like you will need a CPU sized block to cool that.

another Fuzion block with AMD mounting kit perhaps

I just hope that DDR3 starts pulling it's weight for launch time, which is not that far away.....google has it between August & September.

I will jump on board if it supports SLi, rumours are abound but no reliable sources yet. Have you heard anything about this Tim that you can tell us without being sued?

Gigabyte will producing 2 models of this mobo, the GA-X38-DQ6 and GA-X38T-DQ6. The non-T version supporting DDR2 and the T being DDR3 only.

I'm going to be building a new pc very soon (G0 Q6600 based), will it be worth waiting for the X38 chipset or just go for a P35?. Gunna go with DDR2 anyway as DDR3 is mad expensive, thinking P5 Deluxe or Abit Mobo atm

Edit: Reading 2 things at once, new Gigabyte mobo obv. has the x38 onboard

Double edit: Already an article last month : [ I need to look around more
