Seenly - It's gone public!

I'm sure you've all noticed some of the snaps that are floating around on the forums here. They were all taken using Seenly, my webapp, by a select few who I like to call "minions" but are in fact Seenly's beta-testers.

Just a couple of hours ago, though, Seenly went public. This means you too can go there and with just a few clicks have a snap up and loaded (sic) in no time, maybe even with effects if that's your kind of thing, without having to sign up or install anything. All you need is a modern browser with Javascript enabled and Flash 9. If you're using Flashblock: whitelist seenly.com. Flashblock doesn't play well with it. You can hotlink all you want - that's what Seenly's made for.

So go on, plug in your cam and fill up the intertubes with your ugly mug!

While we're at it, I would like to thank quack, Nath, DougEdey, Jamie, Pygo, Hiren, Andatche, biosniper, Timmy with the Mittens and ozstrike (who did I forget?) for being my minio^H^H^H^H^H beta-testers. Thanks guys!

Hm... it doesn't like my iSight. And when I try to go to the settings thing as per the FAQ, it takes me to del.icio.us/about...

The greater good and individual liberty are not opposites. In fact, nothing which suppresses individual liberty could ever help the greater good.

Sounds like you have a problem with your flash player. A dialog should pop-up built into the player itself, so I don't have any control over that. Anyone know what this might be?

Probably... my Mac has always hated flash. Or at least Firefox... Safari tends to play a bit nicer.

And yeah, it works in Safari. Go figure. They really need to work on Firefox for Mac some more. What a truly goofy web app

Of course now it doesn't want to save anything. Blargh. Yay for Alpha.

Because I wasn't logged in. Edit-fest!

Now have an iPhone

I approve of seenly, an obvious improvement over a normal Nath shot

Odd! It should work just fine and dandy when not logged in. Seenly did experience some random errors that I couldn't explain just a few minutes ago so that might have been the problem. Mind to try it again (be sure to clear your cache)? It might be a Safari-related bug, but I don't have any Mac here atm to test it in Safari.

Also: to anyone (logged in or not) experiencing any problems, please, do tell! There should be absolutely none (0). Especially if you get the dreaded "An error occured."-message when trying to save a snap, I'd be very interested to hear about it.

You really need to get a normal lightbulb to swap out for that red heat lamp you're running Relix...

Odd - works fine in my Firefox now... once I got the setting saved in Safari.

You need to make some sort of funny hack thing so I can use it as a makeshift security system Take a snap every 30sec or something. Also, you should display the bbcode for forum posting right on the page that shows the location

Unrelated - you did a nice job pulling off a minimalist design. I *must* inspire myself...
