Following on the heels of the Skype outage last week, rival company JAJAH has announced a surge of more then 50 percent in registrations.

The important question is, are those long term registrations or just a quick workaround? (I've never tried JAJAH but have a year subscription to Skype Out.)

I tried this once a while back, and tbh Jajah was not very good. Half the time it just didn't work for me. I would push the "Call" button and nothing would happen. When it did work it would cut you off after a while cause you didn't have an account with money on it and it was only free to other people who had registered their number with Jajah... I'm sticking with Skype

Plus Skype just gave me 7 extra days of Unlimited for free. Not a bad deal in my book.

/\ same here. I saw one article that said that the very fact that this outage made such news proves how mature the service has become.
