Operation Flashpoint 2

(This has had a couple of threads, but they're ancient and dead. New movie just out: new thread.)

I think I just wet my pants.

Too bad it's just a prerendered video. I hope it turns out well so I can give it a chance. The graphics for the first were crap even for it's day. But the deal breaker for me was the control scheme. It just felt so awkward.

I agree on the control scheme of the first one and the comment about the graphics.

Yep, very true on both. Tbh, the screenshots they released earlier this year for this one looked awful too, but it was only development-stage stuff, so...hopefully they'll clean it up

Might forego this entirely and wait for ArmA 2, tbh.

OpFor has always excited me tbh. I never got into ArmA because the original ran like a dog on my systems at the time. Might pick it up again though.

For all its flaws, the original was truly awesome. By the time I'd finished all the campaigns I was seeing Russians in my sleep.

Its looks quite outdated, bland in all honesty.

The video doesnt really make it look good..

Sweet Jesus, what?!

I despaired and gave up after about 45 minutes of dying over and over and over again. It was realistic, and rewarded tactics and stuff, but it was just too punishing. In other words..respect

Heh, it was a steep learning curve, but definitely worth it.

Aye it was. Especially enjoyed the convoy ambushes.

The one where you're a scout sniper and have to setup an ambush for the tanks coming down the road was epic. I spent such a long time getting my positions for claymores and C4 right there it's unbelievable...

I never played anything except the demo for the first Operation Flashpoint since our PC at the time only had a VooDoo 3 and it had a hard time with this game. I played ArmA, but it crashed a lot so I stopped playing it.

This is looking good though. Hopefully they can pull off graphics near the pre-rendered video because that would be pretty sweet
