well, if the ability to create uniform Carbon nano-tubes becomes reality, then we could be seeing a 5nm process; the reason for this is that CNTs are almost perfect insulators or conductors depending on their geometric grid, and two pentagonal grids bonded at 33.3 degrees to another pentagonal grid tube and a septagonal grid tube creates a CNT transistor.
add in the fact that they've built 300GHz mechanical oscillators out of CNTs and I don't think moore's law is quite dead yet. |

There's probably 15 years or so left in Moore's Law, at which point hopefully we'll see Silicon Photonics be advanced enough to take over.
