Will you buy a PS3 if...
Ok so there are rumors that Foxconn is being contracted by Sony to make newer, cheaper PS3s. The rumors are it will come with a 40GB hard drive. I don't think this is confirmed yet, but a lot of times these rumors do come true. So the figure I saw was $399 USD. So, if Sony were to make a new, cheaper PS3 would you buy it?

Probably that console will send rootkits on your electric plugs or something to infect everything.
Seriously, I see no good or promising games... Sure there is Metal Gear Solid, but it's not worth buying a console for 1 or 2 games.

heavenly sword is the only game that tickled my taste buds, but since TGS they have become entirely ecstatic. I would buy one now, but I'm looking to move to Canada and thus need to save money

if it has hdd it woudl still support linux. they would haev to totally change their o/s just for that version to not support it. plus you can just use a 3.5" hdd in an external enclosure with a sata or esata port on it and use a sata or esata-sata cable and connect it to the sata port inside the ps3 itself for larger hdd for a cheaper price than a 2.5" hdd.

Maybe when they're down to $129 and FF14 is out (though assuming it takes the FF12 route, I won't bother... it's fun, but it's the same as any old RPG thanks to the complete lack of worthwhile story - I got 60 hours in before getting bored with it and still had no idea what was happening).

No, my housemate already has a 360 & Wii, which I hardly play tbh.
I may pick up a 2nd hand one in 2 or 3 years time, but only for the exclusive games. |

I think the PS3 has several problems which discourage the general populous from buying it (including myself)
1. Price. 2. The lack of good games. 3. The lack of games! 4. If offers nothing new - PS3 games are just better looking PS2 games which were in fact just better looking PS1 games. Making it cheaper doesnt fix problems 2, 3 & 4 So no, I wouldnt buy a cheap(er) PS3 |
