ram ratios
Hello,
I've had my pc setup for a while now, but today I read something that made me question if I understand how to properly overclock so I was wondering if someone could clear something up for me. Is running at a 1:1 ratio better than any other ratio? Or do you simply want to go for max speed with the ram and the ratio doesn't matter? Thanks! |

1:1 or above (i.e. 1600Mhz RAM:1066Mhz CPU) all works well, just the fact dat if you can run the ram faster, why don't you run your cpu fsb faster to match 1:1?

i cant get it any faster. I'm already pushing 65c at a full load so any more and it gets too hot.
Cant remember what the fsb is at or the voltage (I'm at work) but I lowered the voltage to its min and I just cant get anymore without a better cooler. At least I think thats the problem anyway. edit: that being said, should I bring the ram down from around 1100mhz (or whatever its actually at, i think its 1088) to a slower speed and try to lower the timings?
