AMD releases Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2007/09...lack_edition/1

AMD has released a surprise addition to the Athlon 64 X2 processor lineup. It's called the X2 5000+ Black Edition and is more than just another 5000+...

Why not release a S939 5000+ 2x ? It saves me in buying half a system upgrade (mobo+mem+proc)

I'd be quite tempted by a high end 939 myself, but somehow can't see it happening, so I'l simply not be buying a new processor for another year or two

yep, I agree with what you guys are saying... you can't help but feel the move to AM2 really did upset quite a few of the AMD faithful. I don't think we'll see a 939 Black Edition processor though, as S939 chips are no longer in production (afaik).

ROFL....

*ehm

yeah, agree. s939 here too. ill buy it without thinking for ~$100, i can get a little better overclock (perhaps) to spice up before Phenom......

i dont think AMD gets it that people that has AM2 socket already has DDR2 and not rushing to upgrade since theyr going to upgrade the mobo n CPU only... but folks using 939 with DDR1 has more urge to upgrade something to keep them holding on until Phenom pops out, considering they'r 2 generation behind, compared to AM2's 1gen. u get my logic here? pfft........
