Orange Box goes gold

http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2007/09...ox_goes_gold/1

The wait is now reduced to just a few weeks and the Orange Box is now, officially, changed to a more gold-like colour. How will you be buying your version?

Play.com steam just isn't very competitive this time round. On a side note if i didn't really want to know what was going to happen i doubt i'd buy it at all it does seem a little over priced, unless of course there is more game play in ep2 than in ep1.

Already bought mine, worked out a little cheaper to get it on Steam at the time as Play was still rather high priced, they have since lowered it. As I didn't own Ep1 before, it worked out nicely.

I would say that the price is acceptable if only because you get Portal - which with updates and such, and the possibility of an SDK, may prove to be an incredible game that dependant on map builders, will last sometime before it gets too boring.
Also it has been documented in several places that Ep2 will have more content than Ep1, just watching the trailers says to me that this is true. Not only that but it looks like it may be a very good play with more to play with and stronger enemy AI.

5 games for roughly £30. thats pretty good value even if you own HL2 and EP1 (3 for £30)

i like the GBP > USB exchange rate

Nothing like the USB exchange rate, wait till USB 3 comes out then it'll be flying

If as has been said, Portal is very short then its value could only come from community mods.... that's a big if.
I have read that Ep2 comes with more content but i suppose it remains to be seen if its actually any longer.

Steam, just because it saves trying to find space for yet another box, lets me get it easily on day 1 and works out pretty close to play.com's price.
