I have trouble trusting any RAM that has guns on it. Even if G.Skill is a great company. Just saying.

I don't want to spark a whole debate here, but frankly I think it looks and sounds ridiculous. G-Skill Sniper you say? Well, get outta here and get me some of that stuff NAO!
I remember when RAM was just... RAM. When heatspreaders came along out of necessity, they looked plain and simple and did what they were supposed to, and it's been that way for years. Up until recently, that is. Now we have motherboards, graphics cards and memory modules with guns, girls and all sorts of other silly crap on them. And why? Because they are products aimed at the "young gamer market" who think that sort of thing is cool. They can think what they like - I think it looks stupid ![]() By the way, this isn't me having a go at you Beast, it's not meant to detract in any way from your nice purchases and I genuinely wish you the health to enjoy your new rig and hope it serves you well That MSI motherboard had the whole awesome black & blue theme going as well, then they put the words "Military Class III" on it. WHY?! Gaaaahhh.

Agreed, it's simply horrible!
Edit: You missed the worst part- sorry for he very large image, just need one with the available resolution to read the back of the gun. It says "Heatsink, not a weapon. Cannot be assembled as a firearm." Touche Gigabyte...

Is that a gatling gun? I wonder what thought processes the person at MSI doing design and development went through to arrive at the conclusion "what this motherboard needs now is a big, multi-barrel gun for a heatsink! That'll bring in the young customers! And if it doesn't, well hell - who else has a motherboard with a gatling gun on it in their lineup?"

The whole gun style thing doesn't appeal to me at all, however, I know people who would lap it up. That MSI board I love apart from those heatsinks.
![]() But I think, what with this being a modding forum where people customise their PCs to their hearts content, even if it's not your style you shouldn't condemn it.

You could always buy that MSI board and watercool it
It does look like a nice board after all, besides the heatsinks.

That's exactly what I would do if I was getting one. I'd pull the heatsinks off it and use a full cover black delrin topped block in their place. It really is a nice board, but sorry MSI, the word "military" does not belong on computer components unless they're in a PC that actually belongs to a military organization.

Managed to procure this about a month ago through my University with the student licencing system. Also got myself a full copy of 3DS Max 2013 and really been enjoying using it again.
Full licence for 3 years, but printed stuff has a watermark (oh, hello Mr. Printscreen...), valued at €5,500 retail. Cost to me €0, legally.
