Webcam, motion detection & email?
I'm going to the states in a while, and don't have anybody to keep an eye on my place while I'm gone. I currently have a couple of webcams set up that I can remote into via my blackberry, but was wondering if anybody had come across any cam software that runs motion detection software, and can send an email if triggered?
I figure if I can set that up, then if anybody breaks in, I'll get an email to the blackberry, remote into the cams, and call the police if I have to. Cheers, Pha3

Digi-Watcher is what you're looking for. Of the webcam security software I've tried out, its about the best.
You can set it up to email you a single or series of still frames, it has a built in webserver that you can log into to see streaming video, it can upload to ftp, and do just about anything else. I have mine set up to guard over my home office when I'm away, it sends me a pix message to my phone if anything gets in there. |

I've heard these can be really quite effective. Spme bloke was on holiday and caught people breaking into his home, he rang the police and they got the culprits. anyway, thats my 2 cents.
