Research in Motion has filed a patent for a new 'angular' keyboard designed to make text entry easier and faster on their flagship BlackBerry devices. It looks a little goofy, but it could just work...

Personally i think this is a waste of time, but thats just me.. If it was a addon then it might have some use as people like me can't really text all that fast. >_<

the buttons on an RIM device are to small looks like an good idea

If only. It's not like touch-typing is impossible on the computer, yet most conversation on the Intarwebs is in something that vaguely resembles, if not outright mimics, "txt spk".

i only use txt spk when the message is long and the max length of the sms is not enough.....
