My Ghetto Defender Repair Mod
With all this free time I decided to finally change all the blown bulbs on the Defender. All but 1 were easy enough:
The main beam floodlight had blown so I sat for hours trying to get it out. Turned out the screws were totally rusted and couldn't be un screwed, so I had to drill them out. Thsi meant the light wouldn't go back together, so the Ghetto Mod: ![]() I was also amazed Halfords stocked the exact bulb needed too !

ch424: there's no flange left where the screw head was on; the holes are clean though.
AH: I know what you mean - I will probably replace it with the black stuff when it gives up. Other than buying a new pair of headlights ![]() padre: I don't think that may have worked - these were self tapping screws into plastic, with the heads a pile of rust. toad: I didn't realise (the petrol station only has grey!). When this comes off I will put some blakc on
